David has helped chart the marketing course and direct branding efforts at an executive level for a wide range of consumer, technology, and financial services companies, from some of the world’s most prominent brands to highly successful start-ups.

Much of David’s experience comes from a 26-year career at Fallon, one of the world’s leading creative agencies, where he was mentored by legendary business and advertising Hall of Famer, Pat Fallon. David was among the agency’s first 100 employees and rose to lead the account management department, strategic growth initiatives and the agency’s largest client relationships.

David’s brand experience spans a diverse range of consumer and B2B categories. He has led comprehensive repositioning efforts for Citi, Travelers, Qualcomm, Ameriprise, Nuveen Investments, The New York Stock Exchange and Deluxe Corporation; directed the strategic communications that drove rapid scaling of the electronic exchange Archipelago, the premium job website, Ladders, and meal kit pioneer Plated; managed launches and integrated campaigns for Quicken Loans’ Rocket Mortgage, BMW, and United Airlines; and worked extensively in CPG with Nestle Purina, General Mills, Lloyd’s Barbecue, Beam Suntory and Brown-Forman.

Clients and campaigns under David’s watch have earned nearly every form of industry recognition, including the Cannes Grand Prix, Gold Effies, the Emmy Award, and Adweek’s Campaign of the Year. “Cat Herders,” created for technology services giant EDS (now part of HP), was named one of the Top 5 Super Bowl ads of all time.

Having most enjoyed working the front lines with ambitious brands, in 2016 David formed Sheepdog to help growing and transforming companies navigate the complexity of modern marketing. Through Sheepdog David serves multiple companies as a Fractional CMO.

Sheepdog engagements have included long-term marketing leadership roles with rapidly scaling cybersecurity business intelligence company CyberRisk Alliance, sports-tech innovator Prevent Biometrics and supply chain asset tracking startup SMART Logistics. David led brand and customer acquisition initiatives for food-tech startups Slice and Seedsheet, created DTC functional play brand Soft Landing, and has directed strategic brand strategy and go-to-market programs for Tommy John, Meristem Family Wealth, Woodford Reserve, Homestead Road, By the Yard and others.
